46 Men is ENOUGH

 (Draft) Statement of Purpose:

WHEREAS women in the United States obtained a federal right to vote in 1920, which was one-hundred years ago, and

WHEREAS women are now more than 50% of the population of the United States and consistently comprise more than 50% of eligible voters, registered voters, and voters, and

WHEREAS women are consistently underrepresented at every level of government, with few exceptions (most notably the current legislature of the state of Nevada), and

WHEREAS multiple attempts have been made to run American women for the presidency, which have not been successful, since before women legally even had a federal right to vote, from Victoria Woodhull in 1872 to the Democratic nominating race which began in 2019 and included six women candidates before the field narrowed to two viable candidates in March of 2020, and

WHEREAS legislative representation was a pivotal demand in the formation of the United States of America, to the extent that the Founders finally declared such a situation unacceptable and untenable and pursued a revolution to escape the rule of a monarch and declare themselves an independent nation, and

WHEREAS the only way to defeat historical disadvantage is to dismantle those parts of the system that functioned to maintain that disadvantage, and

WHEREAS, despite legal changes aimed at equalizing men and women, women have continued to be economically, socially, and politically disadvantaged, with American men making more money, holding more positions of power in the corporate world, law firms, and every lever of societal control, and dominating the political world, despite increases in the numbers of women running for office,

THEREFORE, following the November 2020 elections, we, the undersigned pledge to refrain from voting for male candidates until such time as women are equally represented in the House and Senate and a woman has been elected President of the United States.
